Questions:

  1. What do you think about Will and his friends? Are they really ‘the bad guys’ as first represented in the film?
  2. According to Will education is useless because everyone can learn something from reading books, so attending classes and paying a lot of money for schools and colleges seems just ridiculous. Do you agree with him? What do we need teachers and professors for if everything we learn is in the books that we can buy and read just ourselves?
  3. During the film we can see that Will tries to undervalue his talent and to appear ‘average’: he wanted to do a simple job like his friends and tried to hide his real life story from his girlfriend Skylar. What reasons did he have to do so?
  4. When someone has a real talent for certain things like Will had for science they are usually expected to continue with that thing and make a career out of it, which with Will. Will didn’t want to work in science and it was considered a ‘waste of his talent’. What are your thoughts on this matter? What if the thing you have talent for is not something that you like or want to do in your life?
  5. Can you imagine what happens after the end of the movie? Will Will and Skylar make up? What will Will be doing for a living in the future?
